GEELONG Amateur and Anglesea will battle for this year’s BFL premiership at Grinter Reserve tomorrow (Saturday, September 13).

It comes after the Roos sensationally knocked off reigning premiers Torquay in the preliminary final, resulting in the first Grand Final not featuring the Tigers in seven years.

Anglesea were just one point ahead at half time in windy conditions, but piled on nine goals to three from there to secure the 39-point win and a second consecutive chance to win their first flag since 1999.

Meanwhile, the Ammos had a week off after heading straight through to the last game of the season with a qualifying final win, also over Torquay. They will have a shot at their first premiership since their 2014-2016 three-peat.

The two sides last faced off in Round 9, where it was the Ammos prevailing by 14 points. They also won the round two matchup by 25 points.

Anglesea come into the Grand Final with seven wins and a draw from their past eight matches, winning each of their finals by at least six goals. Geelong Amateur have played just one game in three weeks and will enter the clash fit and firing.

It will be a battle of the key forwards, with Anglesea’s Ayden Gras (80 goals) and Ammos’ Mitch Day (71) the top two in the BFL goalkicking ladder.

The match will also see a mouthwatering midfield clash, with guns such as Harry Ling and Tom Gribble to go head-to-head.
