ANGLESEA GOLF CLUB – December 13, 2018

ON Wednesday 5 December the Men played Aggregate Par. David Cook and Graeme Joyce won with +2. Peter Williams and Geoff Lewtas were runners up with square on a countback. Third place went to Andrew Daffy and Kristen Gleeson, also on a countback from two other pairs. NTPs: 3rd Allan Smith, 6th Bernie Dilger, 13th John Smith and the Jackpot 16th Kristen Gleeson. Ball rundown to 1 down, on a countback.

On Thursday 6 December the Women played Stableford. Vida Brenner, A Grade had the best score of the day with 39 points. Runner up was Noelene Dumbrell with 35 points. B Grade: Ann Stokes (now the Women’s Captain) won with 38 points and Helen Stewart was runner up with 35 points. C Grade: Marg Lacey won with 34 points and Margot Parton was runner up with 32 points.

NTPs: 3rd Noelene Dumbrell, 6th Sue Britnell, 13th Jackpot Barb Croaker and 16th Suellen Eskrigge.

Ball rundown to 34 points on a countback.

Saturday 8 December the Men and Women played Stableford. The Men’s A Grade winner was David Goldsmith on 42 points with runner up Shane Thompson on 40 points. The B Grade winner was Uwe Morzinek with 44 points and Stuart Johnston runner up with 43 points. C Grade winner was Jack Bone with best score of the day 45 points. Runner up was Cooper Hayes on 44 points. Ball rundown to 38 points on a countback. Winner for the Women was Deg Hume with 36 points. Ball rundown to 32 points.

Sunday 9 December was Par. The Men’s Winner was Jared Matheson with +4 and Peter Gowans was runner up with +3. Sam Horne had an eagle on the 18th and David Thomas eagled the 8th. Ball rundown +1 on a countback. The Women’s winner was Jan Stewart on +4. Ball rundown to +1.

The December issue of Inside Golf magazine features Anglesea as the Club of the Month – ‘Roo Beauties at Anglesea Golf Club.’ The Club is gearing up for a busy summer season of not only golf, but also visitors who come for the kangaroo tours which are run every day from 10am-4pm. Thanks to a band of dedicated Club volunteers there will also be late afternoon tours over Christmas and New Year and the Lunar New Year in early February.

Thursday 13th December is the Christmas breakup day for the Women with a 9 hole Irish Four Ball event.

Friday 14th December – Steve Lipovas, our Club Professional is running a Sale night and Golf Expo, including a $100,000 Hole-in-One competition, 4-8pm.

Saturday 15th December – Par Sunday 22nd December – Stableford.

Wednesday 19th is the first of the weekday Medley fields for the summer season – Par.
