ON WEDNESDAY January 31, the Men played 4BBB Par as their opening day. The winners were Shane Blake and Sam McKenzie with +12, while Howard Taylor and James Walsh finished runner-up with +10. David Cook and Roger Trevaskis finished third with +9 on a countback from Steve Lipovas and Ian Nancarrow, who finished 4th with +9 on a countback. Ball rundown to +9 on countback. NTPs: 3rd Don Callahan, 6th Brent McDonald, 13th Brad Eskrigge and Jackpot 16th Geoff Hose.

On Thursday February 1, the Women returned for their opening day and played Stableford. The A Grade winner was Janet Coombes with 36 points, while Prue Moodie finished runner-up with 33 points. The B Grade Winner was Anne Murphy with the day’s best score of 39 points, from runner-up Marg DeVries who scored 38 points. The C Grade Winner was Pam Ledgerd with 39 points. Dianne Williams finished runner-up with 37 points. Ball rundown to 34 points on a countback. NTPs: 3rd Linda Aimers, 6th Judy Talbot, Jackpot 13th Denise Mooney and 16th Jan Stewart. Mary McKay won the Gold Tee competition with 16 points.

On Saturday February 3, the Men and Women played Stableford. The Men’s A Grade Winner was Peter Richardson with 41 points, while Geoff Lewtas finished runner-up with 40 points. The B Grade winner was Gerard Waller with 40 points from runner-up Jack Power with 39 points, on a countback. Michael Cariss won C Grade (for the second week in a row) with 42 points from Mike Grossman who finished runner-up with 41 points. Ball rundown to 37 points on countback. Women’s Winner Deg Hulme with 37 points on a countback from Linda Aimers who finished runner-up on a countback with 37 points. Ball rundown to 37 points. NTPs: 3rd Tony French, 6th Francis Funder, 13th Frances Molan and Jackpot 16th Robyn Schepers.

On Sunday February 4, a two-person Ambrose was played. The mixed winners were Sue French and Bernie Stokes with 65.5 nett while the mixed runners-up were Julie Taylor and Paul Taylor with 67.75 nett. The Men’s winners were Syd Mitchell and David Griffiths with 65.5 nett, while Peter Gowans and Peter Grant finished runner-up with 68.5 nett, on a countback. The Women’s winners were Debbie Gill and Gaye Keeble with 70.75 nett. Ball rundown to 69 nett. NTPs: 3rd Robyn Hunt, 6th Andy Lee, 13th Paul Taylor and Jackpot 16th Claire Brennan.
