Anglesea Golf Club – March 29, 2018

On Wednesday 21 March the Men played Stableford.

The A Grade Winner was Kristen Gleeson with 39 points, while Richard Hammett finished Runner Up with 38 points. The B Grade Winner was Bill Black with 39 points, on a countback from from Runner Up Vincent Attardi who also scored 39 points. The C Grade Winner was Ian Nancarrow with 44 points. Con Keet finished Runner Up with 38 points. Ball rundown to 36 points on a countback NTPs: 3rd David Hitchcock, 6th Philip Warne, 13th Garry Beurteaux and Jackpot 16th Sheamus Sushames. The semi-finalists in the Anglesea IGA Matchplay were decided with Andrew Daffy to play Graeme Callahan and Peter Malone to play Peter Jillard.

On Thursday 22 March the Women played the Captains v Presidents Day in a singles matchplay format. After a number of close matches, Marg De Vries Captain’s team won the trophy.

On Saturday 24 March the Men and Women played Par, in conjunction with the final round of the Men’s Captains Cup. The Men’s A Grade Winner was Brent McDonald with +6. The B Grade winner was Jim Colebatch with +7. Malcolm Mullins won C Grade with +1 Ball rundown to +2 on countback.

Women’s Winner Janet Stewart with -3. Ball rundown to -3. NTPs: 3rd Kevin Friel, 6th Hans Schneider, 13th Hans Schneider and Jackpot 16th Taine Pearse. Brent McDonald’s great round of +6 on Saturday propelled him to victory in the Captain’s Cup (Best 2 of 3 rounds) with a combined score of +9. Hans Schneider finished in 2nd place with +7.

On Sunday 25 March, a Men’s and Women’s stableford was played in windy conditions. The Men’s Winner was Jeff Harding with 39 points, while Ken McLennan finished Runner Up with 35 points Ball rundown to 35 points on countback. The Women’s winner was Biddy Tuohey with 38 points. Ball rundown to 38 points. NTPs: 3rd Paul Hunter, 6th Barry Coleman, 13th Barry Coleman and Jackpot 16th Paul Hunter.

Our Women’s Otway Pennant team had a narrow 2/3 loss against Colac in the final round of their pennant on March 23rd and finished 3rd on the ladder. The Men’s Division 2 pennant team suffered a 4.5 to 2.5 loss against Curlewis on Sunday March 25th and will be searching for a win after the Easter break
