Anglesea Golf Club – May 31, 2018

ON WEDNESDAY, May 23 the Men played a 2 ball Aggregate Stableford. The runaway winners were Graham Conn and Jaimie Sims with a combined score of 82 points. Howard Taylor and Bill Boledziuk finished Runners Up with 74 points. Wally Karnilowicz and Peter Gowans finished in 3rd place with 72 points, on a countback. Ball rundown to 70 points on a countback NTPs: 3rd Brett Balloch, 6th David Calvert, 13th Gerard Waller and Jackpot 16th Jaimie Sims.

On Thursday, May 24 the Women played Stableford. The A Grade Winner was Janet Coombes with 34 points, while Prue Moodie finished Runner Up with 32 points. The B Grade Winner was Ros Holland with 32 points, from Runner Up Liz McConchie who scored 31 points. The C Grade Winner was Sue McGibboney with 35 points from Denise Pennings who finished Runner Up with 34 points. Ball rundown to 32 points on a countback NTPs: 3rd Prue Moodie, 6th Janet Coombes, Jackpot 13th Sue McGibbony and 16th Jill Dilger.

Friday, May 25 saw the conclusion of SWGA Women’s Pennant, with the great news that Anglesea won the Division 5 pennant. Congratulations to the team of Lorraine Elliott, Ros Holland, Veronica Shaw, Jan Stewart, Sue Gell and Liz McConchie! The Division 1 team finished 6th, Division 3 finished 3rd and Division 4 finished 7th. Thanks to all who represented the club during the season.

On Saturday, May 26 the Men and Women played Par, in near perfect conditions. The Men’s A Grade Winner was Nigel Powers with +4 from Runner Up Ian Treloar who scored +2. The B Grade winner was Bruce Harrell with +3 on a countback from John Smart who finished Runner Up with +3. Geoff Dean won C Grade with +2, while Paul Dowling finished Runner Up with +1 on a countback. Ball rundown to square on countback. The Women’s Winner was Jane Millar with -1. Ball rundown to -1. NTPs: 3rd Geoff Trethowan, 6th Col Russell, 13th Nigel Powers and Jackpot 16th Wayne Pipe.

On Sunday, May 27 a Men’s and Women’s Stableford event was played. The Men’s A Grade Winner was Colin Foster with 36 points. The B Grade Winner was Jarrod Taylor with 40 points. John Smith won C Grade with 39 points. Ball rundown to 36 points on countback. The Women’s winner was Maralyn Cross with 41 points. Ball rundown to 34 points on countback. NTP’s: 3rd David Lewis, 6th David Lewis, 13th Graeme Mills and Jackpot 16th David Calvert.
