ANGLESEA GOLF CLUB – November 15, 2018

On Wednesday 7 November the Men played Par – Monthly Medal. The Men’s A Grade winner was Derek Hardy with 38 points on a countback from runner-up John Mooney who also finished with 38 points. The B Grade and monthly medal winner was Don Callahan with 41 points from runner-up Vincent Attardi who scored 40 points.

Peter Hester won C Grade for the second week in a row with a score of 35 points on a countback from runner-up Daryl Britnell who scored 35 points. Ball rundown to 35 points on a countback.

On Thursday 8 November the Women played Stroke, the First Round of the Club Championships and the Medal of Medallists Playoff. The A Grade winner was Julie Taylor with 73 nett from runnerup Janet Coombes who returned 75 nett. Wendy Callahan won B Grade with 73 nett from runnerup Linda Aimers who scored 75 nett. Denise Mooney won C Grade with a score of 71 nett while Di Williams finished runner-up with 74 nett.

Wendy Callahan won the Medal of Medallists with her score of 73 nett relegating Judy Talbot to 2nd place. Congratulations Wendy.

Ball rundown to 76 nett on a countback. NTP’s: 3rd Sue Bowler, 6th Suellen Eskrigge, 13th Pam Hill and 16th Dee Stewart. Janet Coombes and Prue Moodie lead the Club Championships after round 1 with their score of 89 placing them just in front, with 6 players only 4 strokes or less behind.

Robyn Schepers leads B Grade by 1 stroke after her round of 98, while Jenni Inman leads C Grade by 1 stroke after the first round. The second round will be played Thursday 15 November with the final round on Saturday 17 November. Good luck to all. On Saturday 10 November the Men and Women played stroke, with the Men playing the 2nd Round of the Club Championships and the 2nd Round of the Seniors Championships.

The Men’s A Grade winner was Sam Horne with 68 nett from Jared Matheson who finished runner-up with 71 nett. The B Grade winner was Peter Jillard with 67 nett from B Grade Runner up Graham Rees who finished with 71 nett.

Lyndley McClelland won C Grade with a great score of 65 nett holding off his brother Brandon McClelland who finished runner-up with 66 nett.

Ball rundown to 74 nett on a countback. Nigel Powers leads the Gross event after 36 holes with a score of 153 while Brett Balloch (156), Mark Couzens (158) and Andrew Daffy (159) are all close heading into the final round this Saturday.

Mark Heath (175) has a commanding 7 stroke lead in B Grade Gross while Len Ballem leads by 6 strokes in the C Grade gross event. With a number of gross and nett events to be decided this coming Saturday an exciting day awaits. The Women’s winner was Barb Croaker with 70 nett.
