Anglesea Golf Club – November 9, 2017

ON Wednesday November 1 the Men played Stableford in conjunction with the Monthly Medal.

The A Grade Winner was Andrew Daffy with 38 points from runner-up John Mooney who finished with 37 points.

The B Grade winner was Don Gough with 38 points while Christian Robertson finished runner up with 37.

Michael Preston won C Grade and the Monthly Medal with 39 points from John Milton on 37 points. Ball rundown to 34 points on countback. NTPs: 3rd Des Clancy, 6th Garry Beurteaux, 13th Norm Stewart and 16th (Jackpot) Paul Taylor.

On Thursday November 2, the first round of the Women’s Club Championships took place. Roberta Lockyer left the field in her wake with a great round of 79 gross. Roberta won A Grade with her score of 79-15-64, while Janet Coombes finished runner-up with 72 net. Barb Croaker won B Grade with 75 net, on a countback from Ros Holland also on 75 net. Biddy Tuohey won C Grade with 72 net while Dianne Williams finished runner-up with 78 net. Ruth Trevaskis won the putting competition with 28 putts. The Playoff for Medallist of the Year also took place, with Roberta Lockyer’s score of 64 net claiming the Medal. NTPs: 3rd Janet Coombes, 6th Barbara Black, 13th Julie Taylor, 16th Biddy Tuohey.

Stroke was played by the Men and Women on Saturday November 4 with the Men playing the first round of their Club Championships and the November Monthly Medal. The Men’s A Grade Winner, and Monthly Medal winner, was John Smart with net 67, on a countback from runner-up Derek Hardy. The B Grade winner was Jamie Reale with net 70 from runner-up Tom Leeds who had 71.

Tony Tobler won C Grade with 71 from runner-up Brandon McClelland with net 74. Ball rundown to 74 on countback. Mark Couzens and Derek Hardy lead the Club Championships after their gross score of 76. John Chibley provided one of the highlights of the day with a hole in one on the 13th – congratulations John!

Women’s Winner Elizabeth Kearton net 69. NTPs: 3rd Stephen Sinnott, 6th Tony Speed, 13th John Chibley and Jackpot 16th Garry Beurteaux.

Men’s and Women’s Stableford was played on Sunday November 5. The Men’s A Grade winner was Paul Barlow with 40 points. John Dowling won B Grade with 41 points, while Iain Horden won C Grade with 40 points. Robin Adamson won the Women’s competition with 36 points, on a countback from Jane Hills. NTPs: 3rd Justin Gomez, 6th Bernie Stokes, 13th Colin Foster 16th (Jackpot) Colin Foster.
