Anzac Day locked in for women’s footy and annual clashes

AFL BARWON has confirmed the second round of grading games for the Epworth Senior Female Football competition will be played this Sunday, April 25.

All nine games in the fixture will be played on Anzac Day.

The round 2 games are:

  • St Mary’s 1 v Barwon Heads 1, Anthony Costa Oval, 2pm
  • St Mary’s 2 v Barwon Heads 2, Anthony Costa Oval, noon
  • North Geelong v Drysdale, Keith Barclay Oval, 2pm
  • Geelong West Giants 1 v Newtown & Chilwell 1, West Oval, 2pm
  • Geelong West Giants 2 v Anglesea, West Oval, noon
  • Grovedale v Torquay, Burdoo Reserve, 2pm
  • Colac Imperials v Geelong Amateur, Western Oval, 2pm
  • South Barwon v St Joseph’s, McDonald Reserve, 11am
  • Lara v St Albans, Bisinella Oval, 2pm
  • Newtown and Chilwell 2 have the bye.

Three long-running traditional clashes in the men’s competitions will also be played in the special Anzac Day timeslot – Drysdale v Portarlington in the BFL, on Drysdale’s home deck at Mortimer Oval at 2.10pm; South Barwon v St Joseph’s in the GFL, to played at McDonald Reserve in Highton at 1.50pm; and Bannockburn v North Geelong in the GDFL, at Victoria Park at 2pm.
