WENDY Reyntjies and Emma Webb have secured Bancoora Surf Life Saving Club’s first ever world championship medal taking out the board rescue event at this year’s Lifesaving World Championships (LSWC).

The LSWC are conducted every two years, showcasing excellence in surf sports and rescue; attracting the most talented and skilled surf sports and rescue people to compete for the title of world’s best.

This year’s event was held at Glenelg Beach, South Australia across November 16 – December 2 and Bancoora president Ben Pope said the ladies’ win was a massive feat for the club.

“It was a huge thrill for the club and fantastic to have Emma and Wendy around to inspire the next generation of life savers. They both give their time freely to help,” he said.

“Bancoora is also in the process of trying to get a new clubhouse built but often gets over looked by the bigger dominate clubs.”
