BELLARINE has proven too strong for Geelong and District in their AFL Victoria Community Championships clash at KFC Oval.

The Sharks triumphed by 39 points, 11.12 (78) to 5.9 (39), in a match that failed to reach any great heights despite the ideal conditions.

Modewarre star Matt Farrelly relished the vast expanses at KFC Oval. Playing on a wing, Farrelly won the ‘Bull’ Bennett Medal as Bellarine’s beston- ground on the back of three goals from 17 possessions.

Anglesea spearhead Jordan Erskine also finished with three goals, while Drysdale’s Jarrod Garth contributed two majors.

Farrelly’s Modewarre teammate John Meesen was dominant in the ruck, while Geelong Amateur young gun Wade McSparron again impressed in a defensive role and Newcomb’s Logan Wagener was prominent in the midfield.
