BPCA top 4 season review

AS ONE of the tightest BPCA seasons comes to a close, the top four set the benchmark, with three teams set to reset for another shot at glory in 2026-27.

Barwon Heads

It was a perfect season for the Seagulls, who did not drop a match and were barely challenged throughout their campaign. Avenged their grand final loss to claim the 2025-26 premiership, with a season so impressive it could be the start of a long-term dynasty.

Queenscliff

The Coutas reached the grand final after a slow start to the season, thanks to a mix of batting and bowling firepower. Despite going down in the ultimate match, can take pride in being the only side to truly challenge a dominant Barwon Heads outfit. Plenty to look forward to in the future, with young gun Jordan Monahan taking out the Ray Menzies Medal.

Anglesea

This season was an up-and-down campaign for the Roos, who dominated in some matches across the season but then dropped their bundle in others. Did enough to make a finals berth, but unfortunately faced an unstoppable Barwon Heads in the semi-final. Individually, Dylan Taylor enjoyed a strong season with 27 wickets.

Barrabool

The Bulls soared into the top four after starting the season 3-6 and spending the majority of their campaign on the outside looking in. Went down in a valiant battle against Queenscliff in the semi-final, but should take plenty of confidence into next season should they turn some of their early losses around.
