SURF Coast Football Club’s junior girls’ soccer teams are excited to get stuck into their Victorian Community Premier League (CPL) north-west season after being promoted for this year.
It’s a milestone the Coasters have been working towards for about a decade and the club is hoping for a big crowd to mark the occasion.
They will take on Bendigo City in the under-13s, 15s and 17s with all the action at Banyul Warri Reserve in Torquay on Sunday, April 27.
The under-13s start at 11.45am, the under-15s kick-off at 1.15pm and the under-17s play at 3pm.

Marisa Joseph, who served on the club’s CPL planning committee, said the girls were pumped and ready to go.
“They’ve been training really hard over the summer, they’ve had a few practice matches with some other CPL teams from the other side of Melbourne,” she said.
“Bendigo are going to be a formidable opponent so we’re hoping the support will help the girls get over the line.”
Joseph said the under-15s played in the metropolitan league last year and that the CPL sits between the metro league and the top-tier National Premier Leagues.
She said having under-13s, 15s and 17s was a requirement of joining the CPL and the Coasters had trials that attracted players from the Greater Geelong region.
