Couta star crowned best in BPCA1

QUEENSCLIFF young gun Jordan Monahan has capped a standout season by claiming this year’s BPCA1 Ray Menzies Medal.
The award, presented to the competition’s most valuable player, recognised Monahan’s consistent impact across the home-and-away campaign, where he claimed 21 wickets and added 94 runs.
The rising star had two outings with five-wicket hauls and another with four, and was a key contributor in leading the Coutas to the grand final against Barwon Heads.
He also took five wickets in his side’s semi-final win over Barrabool.

Barwon Heads all-rounder Daniel Donaldson claimed the BPCA1 bowling award after finishing the season with 22 wickets, while also contributing 208 runs, including a 45-run innings against Barrabool.
Donaldson was also named captain of the BPCA All Stars team, which is made up of the best players in the top two BPCA grades.
Winchelsea’s Shane Murdoch earned vice-captain honours following a strong BPCA2 season, compiling 456 runs. He also shared the Ian Caldwell Medal for BPCA2’s best player with Collendina’s Corey Walter.
Inverleigh’s Lachlan Platt was selected as wicketkeeper in the All Stars team after an impressive season behind the stumps, taking 18 catches, while also scoring 408 runs.
