CURLEWIS GOLF CLUB – April 25, 2019

SOME very warm autumn weather has seen great numbers of players out on the course at Curlewis this week. It has been fantastic to see our club competitions so well supported by members and was also great to see so many juniors around the
facility during the school holidays. The threeday MyGolf for kids program was fully booked again these holidays. There was most definitely some potential future PGA tour stars out there! Commiserations to our Vets Pennant side who lost the Final to Clifton Springs narrowly 3 and 2.

However, it is a credit to all the guys that represented the club with great distinction over the season – hopefully the guys will be able to do one better next season.

Eagles – Wednesday saw 3 eagles to Ray Wilson on 3; Greg Bishop on 14 and John Dorgan on 16. Sunday April 14 – Mixed Stableford – 40 Players. Rob Jackson (21) won with 40 on countback from Rory Fitzgerald (27).

Monday April 15 – Men Stableford: 65 Players – A) Paul Lazic (14) 38 countback from Paul Ryan (17). B) Rob Cummings (29) went well with 41 leaving John Wells (22) to take 2nd place with 40. Women: 28 Players – Jo Ludowyk (20) had a great day with the putter to score 40, with LinleyDoak (27) next best on 35 countback. Green Tees: Daniel Hurley (29) 44. NTP: 8th – Trevor Pyke, 17th – And Golden Shot Winner – Andrew Salvino (2.0m and $82)

Tuesday April 16 – Women 9 Holes Stroke: 38 Players – Lyn Schofield did well with 35 to pip Jean Cowley by one.

Wednesday April 17 – Men S/F Blue Tees: – 149 Players. A) Greg Bishop (4) shot one under par in his 41. Don Lymer (13) was one behind on 40. B) John Dorgan (16) also had 41 to win on countback from Bryson Wells (19). C) Selva Selvalingam (28) won by 3 with 40 from Phil Rowe (27) 37.NTP: 4th – Brett Modini, 8th – Russell Tate, 13th – Glenn Burns, 17th – And Golden Shot Winner – Rick Lowe (1.3m and $131).

Thursday April 18 – Women Stableford: 51 Players – A) Sheryl Mackie (21) won on COUNTBACK with 36 from Vicki Carnie (6). B) Kay Bowman (29) shot 38 with Trish Danaher (26) following on 36. NTP: 4th – Trish Danaher, (Pizza On Madeley), 8th – Sheryl Mackie, 13th – Maxine Noske (Leura Park Estate), 17th and Golden Shot Winner – Bernadette Thomas ($47).

Friday April 19 – Open Stableford: 39 Players – Andrew Green (17) 39; Neil Richardson (10) 38.

Saturday April 20 – Men Stableford Blue Tees: 155 Players. A) Mark McPherson (8) 42; Ross McMillan (8) 40. B) Bryson Milverton (15) 41; Joshua Hutley (14) 38. C) Grav Charles (17) 38 countback from Damien Dwyer (22). Women: 19 Players – Heather Bishop (18) was victorious with 40, leaving Karen Egan (17) in 2nd place with 38. NTP: 4th – Ryan Mills, 8th – Jay Magee, 13th – Judy Scarrott, 17th and Golden Shot Winner – Neville Corcoran ($160).
