CURLEWIS GOLF CLUB – December 20, 2018

BELIEVE it or not Christmas is only a few days away! Time flies when you are having fun. We are wishing all our lovely members and guests a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year! We hope to see you all out on course over the holiday period!

On January 4, we are looking forward to hosting the PGA event Blitz Golf! There will be plenty happening and should be some great fun had by all ages. Get down to the Curlewis Golf Club and get up and close to some of the best professional golfers in the country! Round of the Week: Scott Trent with an amazing + 9 on Sunday.

Eagles: Josh Vrbovski on the 1st; David Walder on the 6th AND Ben Bowers on the 8th with a Hole In One. These were all on
Saturday.

Sunday December 9: Mixed PAR: 35 Players. Scott Trent (21) had a day to remember with + 9 to distance himself from
Steve White (18) on + 4 C/B.

Monday December 10: Men PAR: 74 Players – Very pleasant conditions prevailed with Matthew Remyn (18) winning A Grade with + 4. Bernie Drew (18) followed closely with + 3. B Grade went to Kelvin Ryan (32) with + 7 from Paul Kelly (23) + 6.

Women: 25 Players. Pip Williams (17) + 3 pipped Pam Roberts (17) on + 2. Green Tees: Daniel Hurley (33) + 5
NTP: 8th – Martin Frankovic, 17th & Golden Shot Winner – Paul Kelly (0.74m & $86).

Tuesday December 11: Women: 9 Holes Stableford (am): 36 Players – Jean Cowley 20, Anne Howard 19 C/B. Men: 5 Players – Peter Mundy 22, Michael Fraser 20.

Wednesday December 12: Men 4 BBB: 176 Players. Bryson Wells & Dean Anderson combined very well for 52 to fend off Steve McNamara & Ernan O’Neill on 49. NTP: 4th – Ray Wilson, 8th – Steve Miles, 13th – Roger Gill, 17th & Golden Shot Winner – Doug Parkin (3.58m & $144).

Thursday December 13: Women: – Players. The forecasted wet weather put a dampener on this competition day with two women venturing out for nine holes!

Saturday December 15: Men 4BBB Stableford: 147 Players. Neville Corcoran & Chris Leonard were overall winners with 48.
Neil Tonlins & Colin Pretty were next best with 47 on C/B from Stuart McKee & Chris Wallis.

Women; 16 Players. Anne Howard & Pam Roberts scooped the pool with 43 from Rachael Kelcey & Kaye Dove on 40.

NTP: 4th – Stuart McCleland, 8th – Cam Bowers (Hole In One), 13th – Matthew Tench, 17th – & Golden Shot Winner, Anne Howard (1.5m & $153).
