CURLEWIS GOLF CLUB – July 11, 2019

Another winter week has been and gone at Curlewis! On Thursday June 27, we were lucky enough to host over 100 ladies for a charity day. It was great to see such a great representation of clubs within the South West District and also from club further away such as the Mornington Peninsula! A fantastic effort on the day over $4,200 raised for charity. We hope this will be bigger and better next year! We also look forward to hosting more district events in the coming weeks with the SWGA jack Donaldson Trophy next Sunday July 14, The GDGA Veterans AGM on Monday July 15 and the second round of the SWGA district championship on August 18.

Eagles – Matthew Walkenhorst and Steve McNamara on the 14th on Saturday.

Sunday June 30 – Mixed Stableford – 58 Players graced the fairways today. Matt Marles (14) had a narrow win with 39 from James Allchin (15) 38 countback.

Monday July 1 – Men Stableford: 72 Players – A) Neville Corcoran (9) conquered the gusty conditions to score 39 with Robert Smyth (15) next best on 35. B Grade went to Rodney McCrohan (18) with 33 on countback from Colin McKenzie (22). Women: 27 Players – Elaine Barker (24) won by 2 with 35 from Claire McKay (14) 33. NTP: 8th – Zac Badrock, 17th – And Golden Shot Winner – Glenn Hopgood (2.68m and $83).

Tuesday July 2 – Women 9 Holes PAR: 33 Players – Visitor Jean Cowley did the job with +1 from Diane Smith Square countback.

Wednesday July 3 – Men Stableford and 11th Round of Dohnt Trophy: – 145 Players. A) Aaron Loats (11) had the round of the day with 41. Tim Ludowyk (5) followed him with 38 countback. B) John De Vries (15) was victorious with 39 from Bob Brodie (17) 38 countback. C Grade went to Doug Howes (21) with 37 from Barry Eeles (23) 35. NTP: 4th – Ray Drady, 8th – Joshua Muling, 13th – Matt McFarlane, 17th – And Golden Shot Winner – Alan Pung (0.34m and $127).

Thursday July 4 – Women GV Doris Chambers Foursomes Qualifying Round: 48 Players – Sandy Shaw and Pip Williams combined well for 36 leaving Wendy Tottenham and Bronwyn Hosking in 2nd place with 33. NTP: 8th – Georgie Sanders, 17th – Pam Arklay.

Saturday July 6 – Men PAR: 147 Players. A) Barry Jenner (7) had the round of the day with +2. Zoran Stojanovski (6) followed him with +1 countback. B Grade went to Randy Burn (13) with Square on countback from Garry Jones (15). Travis Kellam (19) won C Grade with + 1 also on C/B from Cameron Horne (19) countback. Women: 16 Players – Pat Malloch (17) won narrowly with -1 from Jay Magee (14) – 2. NTP: 4th – Tim Ludowyk, 8th – Matt Kelly, 13th – Travis Kellam, 17th and Golden Shot Winner – Don Lymer (0.8m and $151).
