CURLEWIS GOLF CLUB – July 25, 2019

It was fantastic to see so many players out on course this week. Some better weather has seen nearly full competition fields throughout the week accompanied with great green fee and social play numbers! The course is in fantastic condition, you wouldn’t be able to tell how much rain we have had! This is a credit to course Superintendent Rob and his team. Entries are now out for the 49th Annual Open Tournament beginning on Wednesday October 16 through to Sunday October 20. We look forward to hosting golfers from far and wide. It should be a good week had by all! Make sure to get in fast as entries tend to fill up fast!

Sunday July 14 – Mixed Stableford – 14 Players. Winner was C Ayres (18) with 37 points and R/ up a vistor from GenY Golf Sean Denton (25) 35 points.

Monday July 15 – No Play due to GDGA Veterans AGM.

Tuesday July 16 – Women 9 Holes Stableford 33 Players – Winner Di Smith (25) 19 points won out over runner up C Hughes (21) with 18 Stableford points.

Wednesday July 17 – Men Stableford Green Tee: – 126 Players. A Grade winner M Mcpherson (6) with 44 points and R/Up S Nelson (10) B Grade Winner R McCrohan (15) with 43 got the win over S Miles (15) 43. C Grade winner A Mitchell (30) had a great score of 42 beat out R/ up C McKenzie (20) 40 countback. NTP: 4th – K Stuart 179 cm, 8th – J Mackie hole in one, 13th
– S Nelson 198 cm, 17th – B Humphrey 182 cm. And Golden Shot Winner – B Humphrey (182 cm and $114).

Thursday July 18 – Women 4BBB Stableford Margret Jones Knockout Qualifying Round: 46 Players – Norah Cuffe and Wendy Tottenham won out with a great score of 42 over the runners up Georgie Sanders and Di Smith with a good score of 41 points. NTP: 4th- Bette Colling (Pizza on Madeley) 8th – G Morrison, 13th – Leila Stetcher (Leura Park Estate), 17th and Golden Shot Winner – P Malloch ($39).

Saturday July 20 – Men Stableford 69 Players. A Grade winner G Bishop (2) with 37 points runner up. T Sells (7) 36 points. B Grade winner D Britt (12) with 37 points and runner up S Gilbert (11) 35 points countback. C Grade winner- E Koszela (18) with 39 points and runner up M Warner (14) 38 points countback. D Grade winner- D Jones (23) with 38 points and runner up A Burns (15) 35 points countback. Women: Players – 14 Pam Roberts (20) had a great score of 38 points. NTP: 4th –B Noske 64 cm, 13th – G Walsh 228 cm, 17th and Golden Shot Winner – R Drady (148 cm and $170).
