ANOTHER fabulous open week has wrapped up at Curlewis, as we were lucky enough to host sensational fields of more than 500 players across four days of golf. A big congratulations for all the winners across the week and a big thank you goes out to all the players who came out to support the events! We look forward to seeing you next year!

Sunday, October 14, Mixed Stableford, 30 players: visitor Steven Troon (20) blitzed with 43. Next best was Colin Gillett (16) with 37 C/B.
Monday, October 15, Men’s Par, 67 players: windy conditions saw Kole Petrovski (15) with +4 edging out Mr Consistency Ray Drady (8) on +3. B Grade went to Doug Howes (23) with +5 from wily veteran Colin McKenzie (26) +3. Women, 19 players: Ange West (33) decimated the field with +4, wining by 6 from Bronwyn Hioskin (24) on –2. NTP: 8th – Andy Maloney (0.3m), 17th and Golden Shot Winner – Ray Drady (0.64m and $72)
Tuesday, October 16, Women’s 9 Hole Stableford, 10 players: Dib Simonsen 19; Kathleen Cummings 16.
Wednesday, October 17, Curlewis Open Ambrose, Men: a fabulous day for golf with the course looking a treat. Best Gross – Joel Launer, Denis Callachor, Phillip Toyne & Brad Stacey an amazing 57. R/Up Gross – Max Edmanson, Gavin Divola, Chris Otway & Anthony Moore 60. Best Nett – Karl Paddon, Colin Pretty, Aaron Sarah & Neil Tomlins; 54.5. R/Up Nett – Ricky Parker, Tony Greer, Ben Thomas & Hary Brazil; 56. NTP: n/a
Thursday, October 18, Curlewis Open Week, Women’s Curlewis Plate: the Plate was won by Lorne GC (110 points) by 13, with Christine Argus 40, Caz Bartholomew 31 & Suzanne Neil 39. R/Up was East Geelong GC, with Helen Beales 26, Nola Stacey 37 & Fiona Fitzpatrick 34. Individual winners were A Grade – Nola Stacey 37; B Grade – Louise Shannon 36; C Grade – Christine Angus – 40. NTP: 4th – Zara Brooks (BHGC), 8th – Sam Jones (CGC), 13th – Alyson Slimmon, 17th – Sam Jones.
Friday, October 19, Curlewis Open Week Irish Fourball, Ladies: winners were Sue O’Brien, Jeanette Johnson, Fay Henry-Davies and Lizbeth Brown 107 on a countback over Trudy Bath, Libby Fuller, Sue Barnes and Jennie Boyce. Men: Greg Geyer, Bruce Lancaster, Michael Hanley and Russel Campbell defeating Ron Hosking, Stan Stewart, Cleat Watson and John Moore 122 on a countback.
Saturday, October 20, Curlewis Open Week Men’s Stroke Gross: Ben Henkel scored 3 under to record the best score. Peter Meyer was next best with 73 with Jason Johnson on 74. Best Nett: Ben Henkel (1) 68; Peter Meyer (1) 72.
