Curlewis Golf Club – September 13, 2018

SPRING is well and truly here at Curlewis as some nice weather and great scores went hand in hand this week! We have a big September on the cards as we are privileged to host The Annual Golf Victoria Women’s Springs Tournament over Thursday the 20th and Friday the 21st of September. We look forward to hosting over 350 ladies over the two day event. Hopefully the weather matches our excited we are!

Also a quick reminder to get your entries in for Open Week in October from Wednesday the 17th to Saturday the 20th. We look forward to a great week and seeing as many members and guests as possible!

Eagles: Connor McKee on the 8th with a Hole In One & Tim Sells on the 12th … both on Saturday.

Sunday: 2/9/18: Mixed S’Ford. 14 Players. Rob Riley (8) enjoyed a 3 point victory with 38 over Mark Hayes (13) 35.

Monday: 3/9/18: Men PAR: 72 Players – Wayne Marendaz (8) won A Grade with +4 from Shane McEachran (9) +3. B) Rick Dodds (24) +2; John Pentland (25) +1.

Women: 22 Players – Elaine Cass (13) -3 on C/B from Janice Humphries (15) also -3.

NTP: 8th – Dean Armstrong (1.6m), 17th – And Golden Shot Winner – Rick Lowe (1.46m & $67)

Tuesday 4/9/18: Women 9 Holes PAR: 38 Players – Jean Wenlock on C/B with Square from Dib Simonse.

Wednesday 5/9/18: Men PAR: 151 Players. A) Murray Condie (10) +4; David Boddy (11) +3.

B) Bryan Cairns (15) +7 and round of the Day; Matt Nyhoff (15) +4. C) Rick Dodds (25) +4 on C/B from John Dunstone (29) +4.

NTP: 4th – Peter Bambra (0.82m), 8th – Paul Ryan (2.48m), 13th – Murray Condie (1.56m), 17th & Golden Shot Winner – Tony Hewitt (2.94m & $124).

Thursday; 6/9/18: Women S’Ford: 49 Players. The women had a lot of wind to contend with today. Elaine Cass (12) won A Grade with 30 on C/B from Anne Howard (14). Carmel Hughes (24) took B Grade with 31 from Gail Casey (37) 30.

NTP: 4th – Jill Pring (Pizza on Madeley), 8th – Gill Morrison, 13th – Trish Danaher (Leura Park Estate), 17th & Golden Shot Winner – Gill Morrison ($46)

Saturday 8/9/18: Men S’Ford: 177 Players. Great conditions saw some good scoring. A) Kevin Wheeler (8) 38 from Bernie Ryan (6) 36. B) John Falk (14) 39 from Michael Maaser (14) 38.

C) Eddie Koszela (18) 42 and Round of the Day with Wayne Brown (16) next best on 37 C/B.

D) Chris Dyer (28) 40 on C/B from David Speedie (20).

Women: 21 Players – Pam Roberts (21) won on C/B with 35 from Gill Morrison (13).
