Curlewis Golf Club – September 6, 2018

A LITTLE bit of a quieter week here at Curlewis due to some course renovations being carried out during the week. With spring now upon us we will be looking forward to seeing the course in immaculate condition coming into our open week in October as well as our club championships.

We have a jam-packed September, however, as we are hosting a Victorian play 9 championship on Tuesday September 11. The winners of the qualifying round at Curlewis have the opportunity to play in the state final at Royal Melbourne!

Also, a reminder that that entry forms for our open week October 17-20 are available from the Curlewis golf club website and in the pro shop!

We look forward to seeing both members and guests out on course soon!

Sunday August 26: Mixed Stableford. Men – 33 Players – Eugene Campbell (6) 38 from Rick Lowe (9) on 37 countback.

Monday August 27: Men Stableford: 59 Players – John Hargreaves (19) won on countback with 39 from Derek Kaye (12).

Women: 13 Players – Kathleen Cummings (20) 33 from Georgie Sanders (23) 30.

NTP: 8th – Steve Cadby (1.88m), 17th – And Golden Shot Winner – Andy Sholl (2.22m & $57)

Tuesday August 28: Women 9 Holes Stableford: 10 Players – Pam Arklay 18, Fay Priddle 17 countback.

Mixed 18-hole Stableford: 89 Players: Alan Bartle (10) won A Grade by 2 with 41 from David Yelland (13) 39. B Grade went to Denise Kelly (16) with 39 from Peter Mundy (17) 38.

NTP: 4th – Elaine Cass (1.94m), 8th – Eddie Koszela (3.3m), 13th – Greg Bishop (3.52m), 17th – Brian Halfpenny (1.88m); Golden Shot Winner on 17th – Alan Bartle (2.08m & $75).

Wed/Thurs: No Play due to Greens Renovations and scarification of fairways, etc.

Saturday September 1: Men Stableford: 133 Players. The greens were surprisingly slick after the greens renovations. Showers and cold winds added to the degree of difficulty. A) Ross McMillan (8) 38; Keiran Jones (12) 37. B) Leigh Edsall (15) had the round of the day with 41. Next best was Mick Henderson (15) 35. C) Kevin Leitch (24) 37 from Chris Dyer (29) 36.

Women: 9 Players – Heather Bishop (21) won by 4 with 33 from Wendy McDonald (31) with 29 countback.

NTP: 4th – Martin Frankovic (1.96m), 8th – Sam Loftus (1.15m), 13th – David Seear (1.7m), 17th & Golden Shot Winner – Mick Henderson (1.1m & $135).
