Dale McDonald to coach Torquay Cricket Club

May 30, 2018 BY

THE Torquay Tigers Cricket Club has announced the appointment of Dale McDonald as its captain/coach for the next two years.

After three years leading sub-district side Williamstown Cricket Club, McDonald has committed to the Tigers.

Coming off a 1st XI premiership in the past season, McDonald is excited at the opportunity to lead Torquay over the next two years to build on the already-strong group that played off in last year’s GCA division 2 grand final.

His cricket CV is impressive with stints at Premier level with Footscray and Greenvale along with sub-district sides Brighton and more recently Williamstown.

With more than 8,100 runs and a top score of 191, Torquay says McDonald’s experience and knowledge of the game is the catalyst for what it believes will take the club to its ultimate goal: competing in the GCA 1 premier division.

Continuing on from Ash Russell’s great year last year leading the boys to a grand final birth, the club is excited at McDonald’s appointment, and along with a few experienced signings to add to an already talented group, believe that the Tigers are ready to take the next step.

The club welcomes Dale, Pauline and their family to the Torquay Tigers Cricket Club for season 2018/19 and beyond.
