LORNE Cricket Club is looking to take the next step in the Colac and District Cricket Association after back-to-back Division 3 Grand Final appearances.
The Dolphins narrowly missed out on premiership glory in the past two seasons, but believe the close results warrant a promotion to Division 2 for the 2025/26 season.
Opening bowler Conan Roos and former captain Josh O’Brien are moving on for the coming season, but club secretary Matt Cash said Lorne is poised to move up the ranks.
He said the Dolphins are looking for players to join them for the journey.
“Despite the ongoing challenges of fielding a consistent team, we’re determined to make a serious push for promotion to Division 2.
“To do that, we’re looking for a few committed cricketers who are ready to take on the challenge with us.”

While the Dolphins would love to progress to Division 2, Cash explained the goal was to still field a side in Division 3 as well.
“At the same time, we have a group of enthusiastic young players keen to begin their cricketing journey with Lorne this season,” he said.
“With all this in mind, our goal is to field a strong First XI in Division 2, alongside a Division 3 team made up of emerging local talent, guided by seasoned veterans in the twilight of their careers.”
Registrations are free for players under 25, with players of all abilities welcome to sign up to join the Dolphins’ pursuit of a Division 2 berth.
