Drysdale tennis kids experience the open in style
KIDS from Drysdale Tennis Club recently got the chance to see the world’s best players up close and personal during the Australian Open.
On Thursday January 21, Drysdale Tennis Club Community Play Hots Shots children were invited to the Australian Open ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Day.
A bus load of 50 kids, parents and helpers enjoyed the Australian Open Festival Kids World at Birrurang Marr and had the chance to meet Alicia Molik – an ANZ Hot Shots ambassador.
They were also given ground passes to enjoy a day at the Australian Open.
Meanwhile, on Sunday January 24, 10 Hot Shots children were invited to the Kids On Court experience at the Australian Open.
They got to play on Rod Laver Arena in a once-ina-lifetime experience before Maria Sharapova and Belinda Bencic played their fourth round match.
The kids and a parent passes to enjoy a fun day at the tennis and were all participants in the club’s also had ground new Hot Shots Leagues program.
Everyone involved on both days had a wonderful time seeing the best players in the world up close.
Drysdale Tennis Club offers Community Play Hot Shots, which is the Tennis Australia introduction program to tennis with low compression balls, smaller nets, racquets and courts. The club also runs Hot Shots Leagues, which is designed for the orange and green ball stages as an introduction to competition tennis.
