Dyer and Bews tie for medal
Barwon Heads hard-nut Matt Dyer and Anglesea midfielder Jackson Bews have tied for the Les Ash Medal as BFL best-and-fairest. The pair polled 17 votes, one clear of Modewarre big man John Meesen, who was ineligible as the result of a suspension from the Warriors’ Good Friday win over Torquay. Meesen’s Warriors’ co-coach Josh Finch finished on 15 votes, two away from being a five-time winner of the award. Barwon Heads veteran Peter Swinton won the Done Cole Medal as reserve grade best-and-fairest.
Bews was named on the ball in the BFL team of the year, while Dyer was picked on the half-forward flank.
