EAST Geelong and North Geelong will fight for a spot in the GDFL big dance as they face off in tomorrow’s (Saturday, September 6) seniors Semi-Final.

The Eagles will be well rested after a week off, thanks to finishing the home and away season on top of the ladder.

Meanwhile, the Magpies broke a 10-year finals losing streak after holding on against Belmont in the Qualifying Final.

The winner of the game will progress straight through to the grand final, while the loser gets a second chance in next week’s Preliminary Final.

North Geelong won both matchups during the home and away season, which should give them plenty of confidence despite the difference in ladder positions.

They will also look to correct their accuracy this weekend after almost kicking themselves out of the game in their Qualifying Final win over the Lions.

Meanwhile, Belmont will use their second chance as they face Bell Post Hill in this Sunday’s Semi-Final.

The Lions will focus on a better start to the match, after giving up five goals to zero in the first term ultimately costing them a chance last weekend. The Panthers overcame a plucky Anakie outfit in the Elimination Final to win by 13 points.

Last time they met in round 14, the Panthers were awarded the four points after a controversial finish. The Lions won their previous matchup in Round 2 by six goals.
