Entries now open for Anglesea Premier Trail Running Event

ENTRIES are now open to one of Victoria’s premier Trail Running Series for 2022 as the Rapid Ascent Trail Running Series returns to Anglesea on the 31st of July 2022

The Rapid Ascent Trail Running Series first graced the calendar ten years ago and over the course of time has built a dedicated following of like-minded runners who are keen to experience the magic of the trails in a friendly and social atmosphere.

The Anglesea event organisers in Rapid Ascent welcome runners to experience any of the breathtaking race locations and to immerse themselves in the natural wilderness by foot.

According to General Manager of Rapid Ascent, Sam Maffett, the goal of the event is to continue to inspire and encourage participants within the series to enjoy all of Victoria’s beautiful trails in a comfortable and enjoyable setting.

“Trail running brings people together and really does offer more than just the enjoyment on the trails – it’s the endorphins, the fitness and health opportunities, and most importantly the friendships that can and have been formed with like-minded people,” Maffett said.

The Anglesea event will feature a short course race that varies in length between 5km and 8km, a medium course race of between 11km and 15km and a long course race that starts at 15km and extends to 23km at its longest. Competitors are welcome to enter all five races or choose just the ones that suit them.

Competitors entering into the Surf Coast event will run on little-known trails, down fun single tracks that pass through scenic landscapes of towering gum trees, trickling creeks, fern-lined valleys and native wildlife – all in a welcoming event environment.

The Series which will hit the Surf Coast in July is supported by many enthusiastic participants and leads the way as Victoria’s most popular trail running events.

Rapid Ascent looks forward to kicking the series off this June at Yarra Bend and continuing onto the beautiful coastal town of Anglesea in late July.
