Entries open for Australian SUP Titles
ENTRIES are now open for marathon and technical race paddlers to be part of the Australian Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) Titles this October on Phillip Island.
The event will be held over four days from October 22-26 and feature more than 80 of the nation’s best SUP athletes in both surfing and flatwater racing disciplines.
The Victorian SUP surfing team has already been determined from the state title round in May at Point Impossible Beach, but spots in the marathon and technical paddling races are still available.
Surfing Victoria chief executive officer Adam Robertson and the team encouraged the state’s best paddlers to get their entries in.
“This year’s National SUP Titles are a great opportunity for Victorian team members to have that home advantage when competing against the country’s best,” Robertson said.
“We look forward to seeing the best SUP riders in the country.”
Victoria will be hoping to chase gold at the titles again in 2024, after Emma Webb took home the 10ft Open Women and O40 Women Longboard SUP surfing disciplines last year.
Webb and incumbent state open men’s champion Matt Takle will be among the favourites to take home a title.
The surfing disciplines will be primarily based out of Cape Woolamai Beach.
The flatwater marathon and prone technical racing will be held on Octobeer 25 where conditions permit.
Entries will close in October.
