EYEING THR RIP CURL PRO
THE MAIN EVENT
The Rip Curl Pro is at Bells Beach within the event window of today (March 24) to April 5. The status of the event will be posted each morning on worldsurfleague.
Parking is available at the west side of Jarosite Road for a $2 donation to the Jan Juc Cricket Club and a free bus will run from 8.30am-4.30pm over the Easter long weekend, stopping in Jan Juc and Torquay.
Tickets are available at the event, adults $10, concession $5, festival pass $25, free admission for 3228 residents and children under 16.
LIVE SITES
A huge range of Live Sites showing all the action on screen across the Surf Coast. It won’t be hard to find a spot to watch the Pro in Torquay, with 35 shops, cafes, restaurants and hotels signing up as official Live Sites. If you’re in Jan Juc, head to The Beach Hotel or BirdRock Cafe, or in Anglesea the Anglesea Hotel and Anglesea Surf centre. The Aireys Pub is also participating, and in Lorne you can catch every second at the Lorne Visitors Centre, Great Ocean Road Heritage Centre and Grand Pacific Hotel and Apartments. ACTION AROUND TOWN
Torquay will be buzzing all over the Easter weekend with Strapper’s Surf City and Torquay stores both streaming the event live in store and offering a free barbecue at Strapper Torquay on Saturday March 26 and Sunday March 27. If you’re after some live music, Goons of Doom are playing at Torquay Hotel on Friday March 25, and keep an eye out at Rip Curl, Quicksilver and Billabong for the chance to meet your favourite pro at team signing events.
