Festival of Sails opens for entry

ENTRIES are now open for the 2020 Festival of Sails.

The three-day regatta that sees competitors race from Melbourne to Geelong will take place from January 25-27.

Next year will be the 177th anniversary of the boat race, and the 31st consecutive occasion that Larriken2 skipper Darren Pickering has taken part in the event.

Pickering says the Festival of Sails is always special.

Darren is expected to be just one of 3,000 sailors and support crew at next year’s regatta, as the race attracts participants from across the world.

It will also see a return to Steampacket gardens, where there will be a large focus on family entertainment and on-water activities.
