From the Mat – April 11, 2019

THE 2019 Invitation Classic Triples was held on Sunday March 31 with Ian Winchester, Des Clancy and Rob Miner taking the honours. The event was sponsored by Lifestyle Communities, with Robyn Murrihy showcasing their Mt Duneed development.

Congratulations to club championship event winners Sue Rolls (President’s Handicap) and Dot Winchester with Trish Ryan – Ladies Pairs Champions.

Lea Quail once again excelled at organising a most enjoyable “Remember a Mate” Day. Leon and Bev Wilson and helpers produced a memorable Free to Members “Thank You Day”, highlights of which included Keith Hogan’s first “doughnut”.

Peter Gordon, Sam Grima, Steve Donne and Barry Nancarrow scored a good win in the April Fool’s Day Monday Jackpot Social Bowls – but Bob Dwyer, Everett Greeves and Ray Murphy cracked the Jackpot.

The annual Ron Leeman Lions Charity Day is this Saturday April 13th – proceeds go to Parkinson’s Research and Camp Quality.

Easter will be full of bowling opportunities, with RSL Invitation Day (Sirovilla) on Easter Saturday and Anniversary Triples (Brian and Betty Butterworth) on Easter Monday.

Anglesea Family Caravan Park are sponsoring afternoon social bowls on ANZAC Day. Club members are reminded the Annual General Meeting is at 3pm preceded by social bowls at 10.30am and the Presentation Dinner at 6pm at the club.

BOWLS SCHEDULE
Anyone wanting to try bowls is most welcome to contact the Club.

Regular Bowls: Mondays (12.30pm) and Saturdays (1pm). Match is open for entries on the day until 11am by noticeboard entry, phone or email. Casual Bowls: Open for members anytime; public bookings welcome.

Friday Social: Afternoon Practice. Happy Hour, Raffle, Members Draw and Meals from 5pm.
