From the Mat – April 4, 2019

April 4, 2019 BY

THE bowls season may have come to an end for another year but the Torquay Bowls Club is still open for business! Bistro and bar facilities will be running as per normal as we creek deeper into the cooler Autumn months, so come down and enjoy a drink or meal and see why the Torquay Bowls Club is the place to be on the Surf Coast.

SATURDAY PENNANT
Division 9 played Queenscliff in the Grand Final at a hot and windy Drysdale Bowling Club.

It was a tight game with the lead going back and forth until the final ends.

In front of a big crowd Don Marianger and George Oxley put on displays of individual brilliance but in a dramatic finish Torquay lost by five shots in a terrific game of lawn bowls.

MIDWEEK PENNANT
Division 5 represented Torquay in a midweek Grand Final against Bannockburn played at the City of Geelong Bowls Club.

Hazel Price’s rink had a brilliant 12 shot win, but it was not enough as the side went down by 3 shots overall.
