From the Mat – February 14, 2019

The 2019 Bendigo Bank Triples for Triers has been completed with 32 teams participating over five nights in this most enjoyable annual community bowls event. The Club paid tribute to the Cockerill family, who have been instrumental
in organising the event for many of the 22 years it has been running. The Anglesea Bowling Club also acknowledged the continuing support of the Anglesea Community Bendigo Bank, represented by Rob Cameron, Kim Schwartz and their team. The Club expressed its gratitude to the many volunteers, donors and sponsors whose contributions made the event possible.

Triples for Triers overall winners were -Red Teams: Moshulu (Peter Caulfield, Darren Hawkins and Warren Heinnen and Blue Teams: The Mad Milers (Graham Daffy, Mark Houlihan, Carol Daffy and Pauline O’Dwyer). Sue Pescott took out the Craig Leeman Top Toucher Trophy with 15 touchers recorded during the tournament.

Round 5 of the Sovereign Financial Monthly Triples takes place on Monday 25 February with aggregate leaders Keith Hornibrook, Ben Coyle and Terry Hope defending a 2 points margin.

Congratulations to recent social bowls winners: Rick Sheehan, Trish Ryan, George Schulze and James Murray. Best wishes to Keith Hogan and Barb Hinton who are representing Anglesea in the Geelong Bowls Region Champion of Champions competition.

BOWLS SCHEDULE
Anyone wanting to try bowls is most welcome to contact the Club.

Regular Bowls: Mondays (12.30pm) and Saturdays (1pm). Match is open for entries on the day until 11am by noticeboard entry, phone or email.

Casual Bowls: Open for members anytime; public bookings welcome.

Friday Social: Afternoon Practice. Happy Hour, Raffle, Members Draw and Meals from 5pm.
