Saturday Pennant
Saturday October 6 saw the opening day of the Saturday Pennant Season with mixed results across the divisions.
Division One had a 29 shot loss under the roof at City of Geelong. Division Three had a 24 shot loss to a strong Lara side at home with Ken Sproat’s rink picking up two valuable points.
Division Four lost in a tight one by five shots to Inverleigh with two winning rinks. Division Six had a seven shot win away to Geelong RSL with Murray Monteith’s rink putting in a dominate performance winning by 26 shots.
Division Eight Lost by 13 shots away on the carpet at Highton.
Division Nine Had a thrilling three shot at home over Leopold with Daniel Schroter guiding his rink to a 12 shot victory.
Midweek Pennant
Tuesday October 2 was the first round Midweek pennant with two sides having a winning start to the season.
Division One had a convincing 26 shot victory over Highton, with Karen Harrington’s rink leading the way.
Division Two had a tough start to the season with a trip to Queenscliff and a 69 shot loss.
Division Five played at home but went down to Cement by 23 shots.
Division Six had a great 18 shot win over Highton on the carpet.
Round Two saw a rainy week of bowls with only Division 5 completing the days play with a five shot win over Bannockburn.
