THE season formally opened with a hectic Opening Day last Saturday.

Tracey Lowry, Anglesea Travel Agent, sponsored an excellent afternoon of bowls.

Kaye Kendall, Yumie Raman and Dot Hermann took the honours.

After a general meeting of the club, a big gathering of members spent the evening dining and dancing at the Anglesea Hotel.

Hospitality capacity at our temporary marquee was tested and coped quite well during a Pennant Practice visit by Geelong Cement Bowls Club. Anglesea narrowly won the day.

Demolition of the old clubrooms has gone as far as possible until necessary electrical connections are installed. These delays are frustrating, but the club is hopeful Powercor will eventually deliver their promised services.

Social bowls will take place each Thursday at 12.30pm unless other events are scheduled for that time.

BOWLS SCHEDULE

Anyone wanting to try bowls is most welcome to contact the club.

Directors Day: Saturday September 23 starting 12.30pm. A fun charity day supporting child healthcare in the region, sponsored by Great Ocean Road Resort.

AFL Grand Final Day: Saturday September 30 starting 10.30am. Jackpot Mondays: Starting Monday October 2 with seven monthly rounds of Triples sponsored by Sovereign Financial.

Regular Bowls: Mondays (12.30pm), Thursdays (12.30pm) and Saturdays (12.30pm). Match is open for entries on the day until 11am by phone or email.

Casual Bowls: Open for members anytime; public bookings welcome.

Friday Social: Afternoon rollup. Happy Hour from 5pm. Raffle and Members Draw.
