Three Geelong Falcons have been invited to the upcoming 2025 AFLW State Draft Combine, which is set to be held in Melbourne in October.

Stella Huxtable (Torquay), Meg Lappin (Newtown & Chilwell) and Georgia Tyrrell (St Josephs) will represent the Falcons and boost their hopes of being taken in the AFLW draft later this year.

Huxtable is a 172cm midfielder and has averaged 26.8 disposals and 6.1 tackles in her nine games for the Falcons this year. She also represented Victoria Country in the recent under‑18 Championships. Stella is sister of WSL QS Series surfer Xavier.

Lappin, who is the daughter of Brisbane great Nigel, is a 180cm key defender and has averaged 10.3 disposals this season for the Falcons. She also represented Victoria Country and is eligible for father‑daughter selection in the upcoming draft.

Tyrrell a 168cm midfielder, who also donned the Big V, has averaged 25.3 disposals and 11.6 tackles in her 11 Falcons games in 2025.

There will be three State Draft Combines, held in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth for 45 draft hopefuls not named in the Draft Combine. The Melbourne event, where the trio will attend, features players from ACT, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria.

Testing will include vertical jumps, a 20‑metre sprint and the agility test, which is set to be held at the State Hockey & Netball Centre on October 3rd. A 2km time trial will also take place at Collingwood’s AIA Centre.
