Girls’ cricket team off to stellar start

LEOPOLD Cricket Club is proud to field its first girls’ cricket team in the 2017-18 season.

The under 15s team bears the name Leopold Ainsworth in recognition of a wonderful club family and woman who supported the club for many years – Wendy and Dudley.

The season kicked off two weeks ago and the girls have made a stellar start by winning their first two matches.

Team members are all first year players and are enjoying getting to know each other and learning the game.

Any girls interested in trying their hand at cricket are welcome to come down to training and have a look.

Leopold Ainsworth train on Wednesday afternoons at the Community Bank Oval, Melaluka Road, from 5pm to 6pm.
