THE Torquay Tigers have reappointed Dom Gleeson as their senior coach for the 2020 season.

It will mark Gleeson’s sixth season in charge, meaning he will equal Clive Brown as the Tigers’ longest serving coach.

Gleeson said he was honoured to be given the opportunity.

“I’m excited about what lies ahead for this current group and the club, and I’ll continue building on the program we have established over the past five seasons.”

Club president Jenny Wood said the decision to reappoint Gleeson was a simple one.

“What Dom has brought to this club over the past five seasons has been extraordinary.”

Those seasons have brought two finals and one premiership, with the Tigers currently in contention for a finals spot this season.

The club’s decision was reaffirmed over the weekend, as the Tigers thrashed Queenscliff 133-51, placing them just four points behind second-placed Anglesea.
