DRYSDALE has eliminated Modewarre from BNL finals with a 37-28 win in Portarlington.

The Hawks led by just four goals heading into the last quarter, but a two-pronged scoring barrage from Maddison Connally (19 goals) and Alyce Delaney (12 goals) got Drysdale over the line.

Drysdale’s Kaia Giles also contributed on the scoring end with six goals, making life difficult for the Modewarre defenders.

The Warriors’ scoring efforts were led by Katrina Biscan (16 goals), Amy Dodds (eight goals) and Abbey Middleton (four goals), but to no avail.

Modewarre now bow out of the finals race, while Drysdale will seek to contain an Ocean Grove side raring to get back in the winner’s column in next week’s league semi final on Sunday.

The winner of that match will face the loser of Torquay/Geelong Amateur the day before.
