JAN Juc locals and best mates Xavier Huxtable and Tully Wylie have both qualified for the 2025 World Surf League Challenger Series.

The pair overcame a massive field of Asia Pacific’s best up-and-coming surfers at Phillip Island to lock in their spots last weekend.

Huxtable was required to make it past the initial rounds of the Phillip Island Pro to confirm his position in the top seven from Australia/Oceania.

Meanwhile, Wylie showed nerves of steel to lock in his spot, having needed finals finish to qualify for the Challenger Series.

Huxtable said he was absolutely thrilled.

“Obviously, it’s bittersweet to beat my best mate as I want to make sure he qualifies and we can travel the world together, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

The 2025 World Challenger Series kicks off in Newcastle with the Burton Automotive Newcastle Surfest on June 2.
