Ladies day entrants capped at 50
AN OVERWHELMING response to this year’s Surf Coast Longboarders women’s day competition has seen organisers cap numbers at 50 entrants.
Competitors are local and coming from Tasmania and Melbourne, aged from seven to 65 with many mother/daughter combos.
Those planning on entering on the day may have to be content with yoga, music, female comradery.
The Fitness Movement will run beachside massage and Rachel Hely will hold morning yoga and Joey Remenyi in the afternoon.
Fingers are crossed for weather and Huey has been sent the swell order.
Competitors and spectators should keep a days prior to Saturday March 5.
The playlist is set with the likes of legendary ladies Patti Smith, Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Courtney Barnett.
Bonappuccino have coffee and tea sorted, the club barbecue will sizzle with Freshwater Creek free-range eggs, and Peaches and Surf Coast Wholefoods have packed boxes of fruit and nuts.
Flatironed will arrive around noon to serve New York-inspired toasties fresh out of their restored 1957 Carapark van.
