Local surfing stars to shine at Aussie Titles

A BAKER’S dozen of local surfers will represent Victoria at the Australian Junior Surfing Titles later this month.
The pinnacle event will be held in Wollongong from November 28 to December 5 and feature more than 70 of the country’s top junior surfers.
Athletes will be battling it out for prestigious national honours across six age divisions as well school shield titles.
The winners of the Under 16s and Under 18s will earn a spot on the Irukundjis team to represent Australia at the next ISA World Junior Championships.

Local surfers Jarvis Barrow, Jack Lindsay, Jerry Kelly and Kai Stephens will lead the charge for Victoria in the Under 18 Junior Men’s division.
A further three surfers from Torquay will compete in the Under 14 Girls, with Estella Carbonelli, Stevie O’Day and Delilah Chisholm all making the team.
Surfing Victoria chief executive officer Adam Robertson wished competitors luck in the event.
“Representing Victoria at the Australian Junior Surfing Titles is a huge achievement and something these young surfers should be really proud of.
“I’m excited to see our team in action in Wollongong — they’ve all worked incredibly hard to get here, and I’m confident they’ll give it everything they’ve got and do the state proud.”
Other local surfers competing at the event are Heidi Abetz, Tully Gordon, Elsie Chapman, Chloe Muscroft, Teddy Robertson and Alby O’Day,
