THE Surf Coast and Bellarine’s top longboard surfers will be competing this weekend at Round 1 of the Victorian Longboard Titles at Phillip Island.
The two-day event will start this morning (Saturday, February 22) at Cape Woolamai Beach.
Surfers will be looking to earn ranking points towards gaining a spot in the Victorian team for the Australian Titles later this year.
Top performers will also earn a spot in the Victorian Trials for the WSL Bells Beach Longboard Classic in September.
Competitors locked in for this weekend’s event include 2024 world tour competitor Ben Considine (Barwon Heads), reigning open women’s state champion Bea Conroy (Point Lonsdale), Rori Reyntjes (Torquay) and Matthew Shay (Torquay).
Surfing Victoria chief executive officer Adam Robertson wished competitors luck at the event.
“We are looking forward to seeing the best of the best in Victoria take part in the 2025 Victorian Longboard Titles.
“The pathway we have created from State Titles to the WSL Bells Beach Longboard Classic is something we are very proud of, and is an amazing opportunity for longboarders in the state.”
