Saturday Pennant
Four became three after the first weekend of finals with Divisions 1,4 and 9 progressing to the preliminary finals on Saturday 24th March. Unfortunately, Division 11 lost their elimination final going down to Geelong RSL by 3 shots.

Division 1 had an amazing 5 shot win coming from behind against Highton 2 after trailing by 27 shots at the break.

Division 4 had a tightly contested 2 shot win over Eastern Park, while Division 9had a 9 shot win over Portarlington with Clive Rosser’s rink putting in a dominant performance.

Due to total fire bans throughout the district, all lawn bowls had to be cancelled on the weekend of the March 17-18. All preliminary finals and Grand finals were played over the weekend of March 24- 25.

Surf Coast Classic
The Surf Coast Classic is the Torquay Bowls Club’s blue-ribbon event, bringing bowlers from across the state to compete in this annual two-day tournament.

This year’s winners was the rink of I. Mills, D. Kitchin, A. Thompson and V. O’Flaherty who won all five of their matches to take out top honours.

The Rink of Billy Durand, C. Johnson, P. French and I. Forbes came runner up, winning four matches with the best shots up.

It was a fantastic two days of elite lawn bowls played in great spirit and displaying the many talents of our local, regional and state-wide bowlers.
