WITH just under two months to play in the BPCA1, the run scorer and wicket taker leaderboards are heating up, with the crown in both categories certainly up for the taking.

Barwon Heads’ undefeated start to the season is well reflected in the runs ladder, with Max Melzer sitting first and Lewis Hyland sitting third.

Melzer has made 395 runs in his nine matches for an average of 56.4, with consistency a large factor.

He has had five matches with at least 45 runs, with his biggest total coming in round seven when he had 74.

Two impressive knocks has put Queenscliff’s Lochie Philp in second spot with 370 runs and an average of 52.9.

Philp scored a whopping 160 in round eight and an unbeaten 96 in round four and has hit 39 boundaries across his nine matches.

Hyland comes in at third with 354 runs with an average of 44.3.

In the bowling category, Drysdale’s Blake Dobbin sits atop the leaderboard with 19 wickets from his nine games.

Dobbin has had three matches with three wickets and one with four in a consistent season to date.

Closely sitting in second is Jan Juc’s Jordan Graham, with 18 wickets largely thanks to a two-round purple patch that saw him take seven and eight wickets respectively.

Anglesea duo Ky Eskrigge and Dylan Taylor sit third and fourth, with 17 and 15 wickets.
