SILVER

Matt Richardson (cycling, men’s sprint). The Australian put up a brave fight against Dutch master Harrie Lavreysen, but fell short of claiming an upset gold.

Maddison Keeney (diving, women’s 3m springboard). The 28-year-old from Perth was rapt to receive her silver from one her heroes, Oscar-winning actress and IOC member Michelle Yeoh.

BRONZE

Tom Green/Jean van der Westhuyzen (K2 1000m). The Tokyo sprint kayak gold medallists Tom Green and Jean van der Westhuyzen had to settle for bronze in the K2 in Paris.

OTHER HEADLINE GOLD MEDALLISTS

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif wins gold in the women’s 66kg final after spending the Games in the headlines after some queried her eligibility or falsely claimed she was a man.
