Portarlington to hold Barwon Cleaning Supplies Pro-Am

THE much-anticipated Barwon Cleaning Supplies Pro-Am will see some of Australia’s best golfers arrive at Portarlington on Tuesday, February 4.

This is Portarlington’s ninth year hosting the event.

Portarlington Golf Club’s golf professional Matt Milne said the Pro-Am has become on of the major dates on the club’s calendar.

“It’s one of our showcase events for the year at the club.

“We have a really good response from sponsors as well as club members and the general golfers in the Geelong region. The pro fields are always at capacity of around 70-80 pros, and we have the fields in total at about 220 through the duration of the day.”

The club has received plenty of recognition as host. The Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) having awarded them with the PGA Regional Pro-Am of the Year and PGA Regional Course of the Year multiple times.

Later in the month the club will also hold the E. J. Whitten Foundation Charity Golf Day, helping raise money for men’s health.

The morning SGS includes a complimentary breakfast and costs $60 to take part in. It begins at 7.30am.

The afternoon SGS includes complimentary hot afternoon snacks and begins at 12.30pm.

With plenty of quality golfing set to be on display, people are welcome to come down and spectate too.
