Potential players invited to Jan Juc Cricket Club’s season launch day next month
JAN Juc Cricket Club is holding a season launch day for junior players looking to sign up.
On Wednesday September 12, boys and girls from five to 17 can come down for a light training session and free barbecue. They will also get a chance to meet the coaches and be shown how to register online.
Jan Juc Cricket Club junior coordinator Denis Bilston says the club has a great atmosphere for young cricketers.
“We are very much a local community club which is inclusive to all people.”
Club president Rick Wheeler reaffirmed the club’s welcoming environment.
“The Jan Juc Cricket Club has a junior program based on learning and inclusiveness. We welcome boys, girls and their families to be part of our great family club.
“Our aim is to teach our juniors all aspects of our great game, not just how to bat and bowl, but how to win, lose and be your best. We believe that starting with good people is a way to a great club.”
The club runs a Junior Blast program for children aged five to nine, where the kids can enjoy developing their skills through a range of activities. These take place on Friday nights and also act as a great way for parents to catch up at the end of the working week.
The youngest age bracket to play competitively is the Under 11 side, who also play on Friday night.
The Under 13, 15 and 17 sides all playing on Saturday Morning.
There are also chances for parents to get involved in both coaching and management.
