PREMIERSHIP winning Geelong Cats trio Patrick Dangerfield, Mitch Duncan and Rhys Stanley are locked in to play in the hoops again in the 2025 AFL season.

Dangerfield will play for Geelong until at least the end of 2026, while Duncan and Stanley have both committed to deals to the end of next year. Geelong’s captain for the last two seasons, Dangerfield has played 337 AFL games, including 183 since signing with the club via Adelaide

in 2015.

He is on track become only the 25th player in VFL/AFL history to hit 350 games in 2025.

Duncan is only four games way from becoming the seventh Geelong player to reach 300 games.

A premiership Cat in 2011 and 2022, Duncan played 22 games in 2024, showing durability and his continued ability to play a variety of roles.

Stanley made his way to Geelong in 2014 via a trade with St Kilda.

The 2022 premiership ruckman celebrated his 200th AFL game in 2024 and also his 150th club game.

Cats football general manager Andrew Mackie praised the premiership trio for their contributions to the club.

“Patrick, Mitch and Rhys have been strong pillars of our club both on and off the field.

“Their commitment, leadership and motivation to continually develop themselves and our program has been exceptional.”

Geelong has also added talented Irish prospect Cillian Burke and former Blue Jack Martin to its playing list for 2025.

Recruited out of Kerry, Ireland, Burke joins the club as a Category B rookie. Playing at the same Gaelic club as fellow Irishman Mark O’Connor, Burke has impressed back home with his athleticism, speed and ball skills.

“Cillian is a very athletic and a talented prospect. We are thrilled he has decided to join Geelong and can’t wait to welcome him to Australia next month,” Mackie said.

“A very established GAA player, we understand Cillian has made a big life decision to move to Australia.

“We will support him and have a plan in place to make a smooth transition to the Cats and our football program.”

Martin signed on as a delisted free agent with the Cats on Friday last week.
