Pryor, Wake lauded for bowls consistency

JOHN Pryor and Effie Wake took out the highest honours at Torquay Bowls Club’s presentation night on Sunday.
Pryor claimed the Lou Crameri Medal for the first time as the most consistent player in weekend pennant, receiving 250 votes from his teammates.
Wake was named the inaugural winner of the most consistent player in midweek pennant with 293 votes.
The pair were teammates for Torquay 3 in weekend pennant division 5 and Wake played for Torquay 2 in midweek division 3.

The club also held its championships to round out the season on Saturday.
Josh Rudd and Joe Issell took out the men’s pairs while Karen Wiener and Kas Harrington were victorious in the women’s pairs.
Harrington and Rudd triumphed in the mixed pairs and they teamed up with Wayne Roberts to also win the open triples.
Kevin Hazlehurst won the minor open singles and 100 up.
The singles and veterans were played earlier in the season, and Issell, Lauryn Plant, Jeff Howarth and Corry Hooiveld were named the respective winners.
