A BOTTOM-order collapse has seen Barwon Heads slip up for the first time this season, with Queenscliff in a favourable position after day one of their round 12 BPCA1 clash.

As the BPCA1 returned to two-day fixtures, five wickets from Jordan Monahan and four from Tom Kidd saw the Coutas toppled the Seagulls for 187 – their lowest first innings total of the season.

Opener Lewis Hyland top scored with 70 runs, but three ducks from their final five batsmen put Queenscliff in the box seat to cause the upset of the season.

An incredible eight-wicket haul from Jordan Graham has seen Jan Juc bowl Anglesea all out for 204.

It is Graham’s third match of the season with at least seven wickets, notching his season total up to 20.

The Sharks’ batting attack now face the task of chasing down the Roos, with a victory crucial to solidify their finals aspirations.

An unbeaten 69 runs from Drysdale’s Blake Dobbin has put his side at 8/196 against Inverleigh after day one as both sides look to remain in touch with the top four.

Usually a bowler, Dobbin saved the Hawks from disaster after five of their six first batsmen made under 10 runs, thanks to a well-spread Kookaburras’ bowling attack.

The loser of the clash will become outright last on the ladder, making day two crucial as the end of the season approaches.

Barrabool have made a strong start to their hit-out with reigning premiers Armstrong Creek, toppling them for 190 and making 31 runs late in the day to push towards a potential upset.

James Fisher took three wickets for the Bulls in the first innings, while Archer Jaques and Lachie Snaith added two each.
